Who we are
Meet the founders
Supercritical was founded in 2021 by CEO Michelle You and CTO Aaron Randall.
They worked together for many years, building Songkick to 20 million monthly unique users and $100m in GTV, raising from YC, Index, and Sequoia before exiting to Warner Music Group.
Michelle is a former venture partner at LocalGlobe, where she focused on climate investments, and is a member of the TechZero task force.

Dr Mai Bui
Director of Climate Science
Holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Monash University, where she focused on post-combustion CO₂ capture from brown coal flue gas. Previously serving as a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London, and co-leading the Clean Fossil and Bioenergy Research Group.

Dr Genevieve Hodgins
Lead Climate Scientist
Holds an EngD in Carbon Capture and Storage and Cleaner Fossil Energies from the University of Nottingham. Previously managed the UK government-funded GGR-D Biochar Demonstrator, the UK's largest biochar field trial.

Dr Disni Gamaralalage
Climate Scientist
Holds an MSc and PhD from University of Tokyo and brings 8 years of experience in climate and sustainability research. She previously led the work packages on lifecycle analysis and techno-economic assessment for the UK government-funded Biochar Demonstrator.

Climate Scientist
Holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
